THE HIGH TECH CONSUMER could be the guy next store. or your co-worker. is it just hype? maybe it’s you. “valleylist” defines the high tech consumer as living in one of the top 10 largest cities in the u.s.a. or even london england and the top 10 cities world wide or the high tech hotspots u.s.a. and world wide or consumers who purchase top selling high tech products. demographics matter most when using mass communications vehicles like television radio and national magazines to sell to consumers.

for example there’s the profile of the typical high tech consumer from equifax that focuses on early adopters and provides demographically segmented mailing lists of over 100 million consumers and 18.5 businesses. equifax specializes in consumer information.

find ways to get your message to those people with a compelling product offer and motivate the consumer to go out and spend money on the product. “valleylist” thinks these kinds of people congregate in big cities like new york as opposed to small towns like newark new jersey . in fact consumers jump in their cars and drive all the way to the big cities to buy new high tech products. what motivates these consumers is the need to be part of the continuing high tech revolution. it took almost a century to arrive at the point where everything is digital. more importantly the products work. they deliver valuable fun solutions to everyday problems. it’s entertainment. it’s i’m ahead of the latest trend.

just for fun “valleylist” takes a look at the high tech consumer as they aggregate of the top selling high tech products of 2009. apple again comes out on top.

conclusion. finding and motivating the high tech consumer is an end unto itself. it’s a more effective idea to subscribe “valleylist” to all apple computer purchasers. demographic targetting again?

getting “valleylist” to the 500 million yahoo! members is more effective than demographic message proliferation.

most important of all do things differently. those that re-use the same canned marketing approach incensently are doomed to fail. “valleylist” suggests something new at least every week if not every day. and that’s something really new as opposed to the worn out message to the same demographically perfect consumer group.

- - ”valleylist” people send videos.

it’s the “valleylist” social group. use the video uploader. accepted videos will be included in the “valleylist” video searchable data base and consider for inclusion in new versions of “valleylist”. in order to post a video you need to join “valleylist” social group. videos from “valleylist” people will be approved and then added to the “valleylist” social group searchable video data base and perhaps included in an upcomming version of “valleylist” the free weekly internet newsletter.

.conclusion

the holidays are to be enjoyed and shared with all kinds of people. this month “valleylist” says “move the food around”. the 5 chefs are full of great ideas and the area churches need the help.

finding food in silicon valley is a “valleylist” tradition.

“valleylist” v75 r.1 – - food is not what iron chef finds in silicon

“valleylist” v48 4.1 – - christmas and the great chefs of silicon valley

“valleylist” v56 r.1 – - what to do between 2am and the morning commute

“valleylist” v40 – - let’s move the food around

it’s easy to drive by and think about food yet finding a parking space or a reservation is difficult. if that’s not bad enough then try making a big food decision for the thanksgiving christmas vacations.

it should end up less than a world war.
