I learned a little more about avatars lately with the discovery of the OREILLY Press book “Facebook The Forgotten Manual” . Facebook with 50 million members and worth $15 mil [market value] is a big proponent of avatars and their role in interactivity. Most impressive is my “valleylist” success in nominating my avatar for Yahoo Avatar of the Week. They are still tallying the votes. The full size avatar is 150 x 235 pixels and the thumbnail size is 50 x 50 pixels. They are great because they can be exported downloaded or even copied and pasted into almost every internet application. The only thing interesting about virtual reality games used to be how difficult it was to create an avatar or character to represent yourself in the virtual world. Now it’s an example of the kind of fun people can have with games and the internet as well as virtual worlds and virtual groups in the 21st century. For some people the difficulty is that fantasy games need to stay in the fantasy world. It’s online or a video game or computer game product people purchase. It’s not a great idea to take those fantasy games too seriously outside of the virtual world. The most fun and useful avatars are the ones you can create yourself. People are critical of the non-existent “hood” project that people are not benefiting from and then there’s the need to spend more money on “hood” problems that don’t really exist. If it’s not the police department gang taking people hostage and demanding that they “give it up” as reported lately in “valleylist” then it’s an odd experiment on real human beings or business development based on the life of a real human being. The grimy details are at ”valleylist network NING“ for all people interested in conflict resolution.Chuck Reed is still wondering what it means to get back to the project people.”It’s those people who are the problem” says possible mayor of the week nominee Tommy Franks. “I believe I am an all powerful human being” belongs in the virtual world of navy battleship simulations and air force in flight weapons training. Like a lot of people it’s a political question of driving people to interact somewhat safely and “please call it off” when the conflict erupts outside of the conversational situation. Try strategic command simulations for real battlefield fun. The most difficult choice I needed to resolve lately was how to get tickets to see Mayor Rudy Giuliani on 10.22.2008 at the san jose Fairmont Hotel. It’s not quite the New Kids on the Block at the HP Pavillion that came and went on 10.10.2008 yet there’s a real opportunity to find out what makes a big city tick.Chuck Reed gets the vote this time with a list of important new initiatives including the Mayor’s Gang Prevention Task Force The Reed Reforms San Jose Green Vision and the Mayor’s Solar Challenge. However when it comes to a real test of strength the Metro tells people that Sam Liccardo won the san jose city hall stair climb race up 15 flights of stairs.Others really insist that virtual reality stay in the virtual world for now include the idea that it’s ok to knock somebody out in the computer game however it’s a very bad idea in the real world. This is a direct quote from Mayor Reed and Chief Davis who still insist on completing a scooter Libby trajectory called continue until caught and stopped.LET’S MOVE THE FOOD AROUND It’s the fun of finding ways to send to the food to the food people. They then get it to those who need it. My avatar “bad boy paying bills for the Bush Mansion” is a great example free and successful internet promotion. What’s difficult is finding the time to really get it right.
