discovery channel tnt espn cnn and usa networks remain the top cable television progamming companies.
television viewing is often viewed as a complete and total waste of time.
cable solves this problem with very targeted prgamming and viewing schedules. latest industry secret is total compatibilty with vcrs and dvrs. satellite services are offered by cable companies to make sure they reach all customers including those outside of urban areas. last and not least is the plethora of services from cable companies. telephone and internet services bundled into cable television are commonplace. even at&t is in the cable game. cable competition into the telephone and internet business should have been good for the ordinary consumer. instead their product offerings and pricing are all too similar starting at around $39.00 a month for a basic package. too expensive.
news items and products mentioned in this version of “valleylist” are included in the playlist. “valleylist” favorite videos are on youtube.
cable companies are required to carry local broadcast television stations. that means that your comcast area franchise is required by law to offer programming from the local nbc broadcast station. result. viewers can enjoy digital broadcast television on cable.
“valleylist” is not yet on cable though an mtv-like high tech cable program is on the drawing boards.
the last holdout for liberating “valleylist” is former sfpd chief fred “momo” lau. lau who was let go from the sfpd before the turn of the century still insists that as long as “valleylist” is not picked up by new people then it’s a failure.
fred “momo” lau was decommissioned from law enforcement around 1994. lau spent the last 20 years suckling on the bountiful federal and state consulting programs designed to keep former law enforcement from killing innocent civilians.
gay pride to july forth is a two week holiday extravaganza. gay pride 6.26.11 to 7.4.11 goes from a non-stop san francisco parade to a family picnic. i’m still wearing my parade costume and watching digital television.
after your next picnic let’s all “lift a cup” to former chief fred lau. may he proclaim falsehoods in peace.

gay pride parade went very well. a million people. everybody showed up to take digital photos and digital video to capture the fun. a rousing success. no trouble. safe fun for everybody. you’d think it was a big business.
conclusion. warner cable came up with mtv [music television] which it later sold to viacom. among the many innovative and successful programming services from warner you’ll find food lifestyle sports health entertainment and news. hbo or cinemax programming required a schedule specifically designed for a certain demographic audience and lifestyle. for example cable [and live broadcast] television used to require programming targetted at young unmarried adults 18-25 after school or after work with $50-60k annual income and and interested in entertainment. the programming executives who came up with programming that worked for this age group at the right time made cable a big success.
then came vertically integrated cable services. an immense success almost immediately. cable channels like mtv e! cnn vh1 that provided non-stop news or entertainment have become the characteristic of cable programming. broadcast remains a popourri of news soaps infotainment talk shows movies game shows and sports.
“i want my mtv” characterized an entire generation. people who liked dance music and pop artists that outdid each other every week. these days it’s an open field.
“i want my internet” took over around 1994. everybody participated. the internet is a new media phenomenon so huge it brought in 1/3 of the entire planet. “valleylist” is part of the project to put the entire planet on the internet. that’s 6 billion people using cheap technology to access the internet. fun these days is watching mtv clips on youtube using your smartphone. i say take your digital video camera with you and video everything.
put them all on youtube and email everybody.
then dial up the latest blockbuster on cable and record it on your dvr for later viewing with your friends.
it’s an endless digital day dream without much going on.
program the internet like warner cable did in the early days of hbo and include everybody. the internet will saturate the planet in a decade.
“i want my internet”.
