electricity.

runner up. the telephone. land line and cellular telephone services remain even more important than entertainment. call it a communications revolution.  added value. most cell phones are equipped to hand free internet access and even include multi-media content like music social groups videos and live chat.

mogul who lined up the biggest win is probably edison. way up there with guttenberg hearst paley ford and tesla.

it’s an entire year of high tech products and inventors. they lined it up and won big.

valleylist” pop culture persona and publisher of the “valleylist free weekly internet newsletter is the avatar this week. behind the avatar is greg mckenna who’s thesis “high tech with audience appeal: popular culture and the commercial success of home videotex services in the united states [as36 1986 .m34394x]” revolutionized the internet. the thesis is available at the san francisco state university online library.

a former phone company employee “valleylist” ran into a police “hit” while working at rincon center around 1994. everybody was fired. a few weeks later ex-vp bill long becomes a billionaire from a law enforcement deal with oakland black-nazi police chief richard word. everybody including sidekick john barnett runs to work for the police. backgrounder. former phone company boss hal logan had already run to the oakland “hood” to get the goods on me in particular. the situation blew up. everybody was re-assigned. ted west division-vp was later fired. eventually everybody took the “hit” from the oakland “hood” incident. they are still fighting to this very day.

this is the latest list of project problem people.

the phone company wreck of the hesperus. triggered when finance head rebecca rodgers and ex-friend gregory ward introduced me to sf city hall hanger-on scott king. later ex-director dave flores showed up to claim “victory” for the filipinos because everybody needs to stay “in”.

i’m sure they’re right.

analysis. unsurprisingly analogue media like electricity telephone movies and recorded music are the most widely used world wide. print media still dominates in an era where everything should have been digitized already for a paperless society. electronic banking and commerce services come in 3rd. the world of digital media comes in 4th with growing computer and internet usage.

the computer-based society has everybody waiting for the next new technological breakthrough.

rather than build the future around the microprocessor "valleylist" says focus on the home of the future.

to the existing list of planned titles "valleylist" has added "food" [emeril] v186 to the remaining planned titles “digital photo frames” [daugerre] v184 and “email revisited” [larry page] v185.

friday 11.18 spend money at the community arts program benefit auction at the shooting gallery with “home of the future” up for best offer. ”2×2″ ($200) is on display at morty’s delicatessen 280 golden gate and “the head” self portrait [silkscreen] ($85) is included in the “tiny” show at the studio gallery 1815 polk street from 11.3 to 12.23. come for the studio anniversary party sunday december 4th 2-6 pm.

conclusion. grey davis resigned as governor of the state of california because of voter discontent around 2003. schwarzenegger won the special election on a business and technology platform.

gavin newsom’s new high tech san francisco has yet to materialize. the high tech avatar guy is floating around as a highly paid volunteer. busy off by himself. the rest of the phone company “gang” tries to get you people arrested. i do not work for law enforcement. in fact certain people in law enforcement really carrying on. fred lau (retired) earl sanders (fired) heather fong (fired) mike hennesy (retired) george gascon (retired) mess around while new mayor ed lee is out in front of a law enforcement fiasco party.

that’s how dangerous the newly liberated sfpd really is. in fact the city is a shambles. the old guard still thinks it’s ok to “just suck”. no new guard in sight. republican foreign nationals have taken over. newsom is kept busy messing around with bad food police “hood” projects pony boy people and looking good.

mayor newsom may not make it to governor after all.

the coffee revolution found me at 101 spear street rincon center. gourmet coffee carts started showing showing up. peerless coffee was the business development director’s big splurge in the early 80′s. the coffee cart guys set up shop. i stopped by the opening of the city’s first starbucks. later i ran into norman knowles [of san francisco teleguide fame] at the newly opened coffee roastery. he traded in interactive multi-media for a big piece of the coffee business.

from san francisco teleguide to chronicle teleguide then 15 years at the phone company. a career launching one high tech product after another.

i met gavin newsom briefly at the dedication of the civic center zang huan “six arm 3 heads” budda a few months ago. newsom was on his way to governor.

“what’s next after treasure island” was my simple request.
