NEIGHBORHOODS AND RETAIL AREAS in silicon valley are the place to spend your money. if it’s not a gift for the friends then it’s food. the reality is that everybody maxs out their accounts with christmas and new year overload however it’s the great chefs of silicon valley and their fine dining restaurants were people get a great value. of course they want to move the food around. for the do-it-yourself people there’s the sfgates guide to holiday entertaining.

whatever it’s a great time of year to shine a light on the food service people.

those interested in local retail were terribly disappointed by the metro’s 12.07.2008 issue “shop local” . they just didn’t get the “shop local” guide for the holidays together. they did mention the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies as a great source of information for people who are into neighborhood retail. the legendary bay guardian is very reliable. however for lots of help try “valleylist” list of silicon valley publications that feature retail and holiday guides. san jose magazine is a great source. many local theatres feature great movies such as the california theatre’s old classics.

here’s “valleylist” with the real information when you need it.
