NING.
you can’t be serious.
it’s not mosaic. it’s not a new internet service people cannot live without.
it’s the conundrum of ning. it’s really Xining the famous historical crossroads of ancient commercial hub on the road to Tibet .
i joined ning and thought it was just a do-it-yourself-internet-social-group. people who deal with ning know that it cannot be duplicated.
a few facts – - founded at the end of 2003 the ning platform is host to
>1 million individual internet social groups
>4,000 new internet social groups each day
>40% are accessed this month.
>56 million unique visitors latest analysis january 2009
the investment in ning is
2004 – - $1.7M from Marc Andreessen
2006 – - $8.8M from Marc Andreessen
2007 – - $44.0M Legg Mason T. Rowe Price Ziff Davis, CBS, Andreessen
2008 – - $65.0M from undisclosed investor T. Rowe Price Morgan Stanley
$120M investment in ning with Andreessen likely the largest investor. I think they are living well and skimping on important ning features. worst of all they rely on end users to come up with new features. yet from a publisher point of view ning is light years ahead of facebook and the rest of the flock. i don’t think they are near profitability and plans to turn a profit are a few decades out based on the “valleylist” informal analysis. the odd problem is that people actually complain about the lack of really cool technology and internet features. when “valleylist” requested a comment from ning regarding the future of the internet the response was all too uninteresting “we provide network tips and tricks at our blog: http://blog.ning.com/category/ning-tricks. i recommend taking a look at those as well as the networks featured there for ideas!” it’s not too much to really think of Andreessen and his group of people as the inventors of the internet browser and the first world wide web information service to compete with the big guys like microsoft or yahoo or aol or sfgate.
ning should find their way to 500 million members [like yahoo]. then history buffs like myself and “valleylist” people would not shake their heads and wonder who’s going to lead the way.
consider Andreessen’s budda-esque new project the $65M investment in kaching – - SEC Gives Social Investing Site kaChing Green Light To Take On Mutual Funds.
live well and turn a profit later on is a silicon valley way of life.
those in the know really know that “valleylist” is involved a many new publishing projects. what $120M could do for “valleylist” is already asked and answered your honor. sponsorships new funding investors and new business investments welcome.
“valleylist” planned future titles – - 95,000 emails a week soon 1 million
>leading internet services
>silicon valley and the stock market
>silicon valley and the east bay
>military technology and new products
>google – - the special issue
>census a new take – - already in progress
>parks and rec – - already a movie

>ning - – “the reign of terror”
the “reign of terror” features the “gang of 8″ and their efforts to create a state of war in the minds of people throughout the u.s.a. if it’s not getting public officials arrested in office then it’s causing people to suffer for no reason. it’s a vain glorious effort to build “a separate nation” or their own “new way of doing business” . many people blame them for ruining the food supply and trying to eliminate the police department among lots of other weirdo ways of creating terror.
“valleylist” got so distracted with reign of terror problems that the big decision is to put it in the ning. it’s really is a political and social side effect from the bush cheney debacle.
the interest in silicon valley and high tech keeps “valleylist” focused on what’s important however those interested in continuing to follow the “reign of terror” in the news should find “a modern world” by tom tomorrow of interest – - the latest comics featured Salon or Credo are among dick cheney’s favorites.
“valleylist” is too busy to include warmongering and terrorism right now.
>ning - - ”spin the bottle” [new product description 4.10.2009]
the new product document for “spin the bottle” features almost all 500 new characters from “the gang of 500″ . everybody is invited to participate with potential sponsors including ning myspace sega and tesla motors. this document features a list of new characters and an opportunity for new people to join the group and help develop the project.

>facebook - – “valleylist” publishing group news needs to be new (sm)
a new group that needs publisher news and latest ideas
concluding this special version of “valleylist” i need to take the opportunity to recommend that people take advantage ning. join only one or just a few of the internet social groups out there. free services cost too much time. ning has the only set of tools to enable people to build their own internet social group for member specific purposes.
the ning tools are not that great. with the talent hanging around at ning the new inventions and dynamite features should come from the people in charge. ning relies too heavily on clients to lead the product evolution process.
