Space travel came from the military. solar power came from civilians. most impressive of all is the internet.invented for military purposes by the advanced research project administration [darpa] the internet is almost as good as television – - which came from civilians. it’s a silicon valley group headed by elon musk [SpaceX] that has taken the lead in commercializing space travel. consumers want something else and they are not sure what it is. space travel is a few decades away. “valleylist” thinks it’s new internet technology. Tommy franks thought it was new military [and civilian] uniforms.obama thinks the country needs a new process to commercialize military technology “Obama told ScienceDebate2008.com he would re-create the National Aeronautics and Space Council to oversee civilian, military and commercial space activities, as well as space-based issues of national security. “Under my administration,” wrote Obama, “NASA not only will inspire the world with both human and robotic space exploration, but also will again lead in confronting the challenges we face here on Earth, including global climate change, energy independence, and aeronautics research.”though obama has a completely new team in washington there’s a need for a strategic decision. is there going to be new technology. is it going to be commercialized. the Donald Rumsfeld military evolved into the Robert Gates military. New Secretary of State Hillary Clinton [official Biography ] tells the tale of the washington regime that is too focused on war and supposedly killing terrorists [a military problem] to really come up with great new military technology for commercial exploitation. Again there’s a need for a strategic decision – - don’t they mean eliminate terrorism as a way of life which is a communication and ideological problem to solve. blackwater and the anti-terrorist group scandles illustrate what can really go wrong when people don’t understand the limits of democracy and governmental programs. anyway back to military technology – -to find a commercial deal contact darpa. The defense advanced research projects agency has darpa funding opportunities.darpa has programs that people can sign up for and develop to commercialize military and department of defense technology.the internet is a great example of commercializing a military technology. arpa – - the agency responsible for bringing the u.s.a. the internet – - has evolved into a much more sophisticated government agency. the obvious problem is that there needs to be a new defense department technological break through that could possibly create even more new important civilian technologies than the internet. darpa also actively involved in the internet is currently promoting new solar power projects. what is the process to commercialize military technology. NEW FEATURE EVERY WEEK – - if it weren’t for the big news that NYC’s Guggenheim celebrates Frank Lloyd Wright then all there would be to worry about would be a “valleylist” list of military publications. my suggestion is fly to new york and find out what the important people decided to do to make sure things worked prior to 9.11.
